Mission
"Our goal at Recursive is to build recursively self-improving superintelligence to automate knowledge discovery."5

Recursive Superintelligence, Inc. is a Delaware corporation whose corporate address is in San Francisco, with an office in London.1, 2, 3

The company came out of stealth in May 2026 and is led by chief executive Richard Socher.7, 8, 9, 14

Eight researchers co-founded it; those named in press reports include Socher, a former Salesforce chief scientist who founded You.com, and Tim Rocktäschel, an AI professor at University College London and former Google DeepMind scientist, along with Jeff Clune, Josh Tobin, Tim Shi, Yuandong Tian and Caiming Xiong.6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13

A UK private limited company named Recursive Superintelligence Ltd., with a registered office in London, was incorporated on 31 December 2025.8, 15

The company states its goal as building recursively self-improving superintelligence to automate knowledge discovery.5

Its approach centers on the Eureka Machine, a system that automates ideation, implementation and validation of research ideas.4

On 11 June 2026 it published early results from this system on model training and GPU kernel benchmarks, and released artifacts from those runs as open source.14, 16

Flint, announced on 21 October 2026, is its first model: a mixture-of-experts model with 40 billion total parameters and 2.5 billion active per token, built for agentic coding on local hardware.4, 5, 7, 14

The company says a small team built Flint in under four months.5

Its weights are published on Hugging Face under the Apache 2.0 license.1, 5

Direct API access to Flint is limited to select partners.17, 18
